I think it worth noting that as you look at this diptych keep in mind that as this appears to be a pretty straight forward document of a moment in time, it is actually a false sense of reality. individually these two 4x5 frames, on their own, represent exactly what was happening at this particular moment in time. But when the frames are placed next to each other, as intended, they present a single unified picture of a reality that never happened, being that there was about a two or three minute difference in time between the cyclist passing by the man selling objects on the street.
